Allana was a player for Australia in Rugby Sevens in 2013, then consecutive knee injuries forced Allana to stay off the field for several years before making the transition back to league. Allana was the first woman to make her debut in rugby league against Queensland in New South Wales. Allana has added radio to her repertoire regularly appearing on the top-rating Continuous Call Team on 2GB. In addition to her work in sport, Allana is a trained teacher. Allana Ferguson has the unique accomplishment of playing for Australia in three sports that include rugby sevens (rugby league) along with touch, and also rugby union. Allana Ferguson, the Jillaroos' most popular rugby player must end her career in the league due to breaking her ACL four times. Ferguson tore the ACL 4 times in the past, at ages 15, 17 and 20. The fourth time she was injured, her professional career was over. Ferguson was the JILLAROOS team's playmaker. The decision to leave was in the wake of a fourth ACL left injury.
