Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar is the American and British sitar artist. She is the youngest woman and the first to receive the British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is one of the Indian young sitar artist. She's the child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Her birthplace was London in 1982. In the first few years of her life she was split between London New Delhi. In the age of thirteen she staged her first show in New Delhi. Later she moved to Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. The career of Anouskha as a musician and performer is impressive, despite her youth. She has been accompanying her father on stage for many years. In 1998, she released her first single album Anourag. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years following her debut solo album. Since she's performed at many of the biggest stages around the world, her career on stage has been extensive. Anoushka Shankar's career is not limited to performing in music. Bapi: The of My Life of My Live is her 2002 novel, and was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. In 2003 she starred as the role of a Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka is still progressing in her professional career, and we can expect many other things to be expected from this amazing woman. Anoushka Shankar is a British born singer who travelled her early years split between London, Delhi and California. At the age of nine, she started studying music with her father making her performing debut with the sitar four years later at the celebration of his 75th birthday in Delhi. Anoushka, who accompanied her father throughout his global tour, gained an incredible number of experiences. When she was in her teens, she played at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. She was the only female recipient of the House of Commons Shield awarded by British Parliament to recognize her artistry and musicianship as a leading musician of music in Asian Arts.
